How this site earns money

Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you book through a link to GetYourGuide, Viator or DiscoverCars, that company pays us a commission. You pay the same price as you would going to them directly.

Which experiences we list, and what we say about them, is our decision. A company cannot pay to be listed or ranked here today. If we ever show a paid placement, it will be labelled as one.

Checked, with a date

Prices, what is included and permit status on our listings come from a record checked by a person, and each listing shows the date of that check. Things change after that date. The booking page always has the current price and availability.

Trail permits

Many hiking trails in Madeira need a permit booked on the regional SIMplifica portal (simplifica.madeira.gov.pt). Each listing says whether its price includes the permit. The rules are set by the regional authorities and can change, so check the portal before your walk.
